Save Money on Christmas Gift Cards – Give Cards that Give You Money Back

November 28, 2011 | By Rich | |

Give a gift card, get a kickbackHere’s a tip on how to save money on Christmas gift cards:  Consider giving a gift card that gives you something back in return.

I call it the “Christmas Kickback” and I see more and more restaurants, hair styling salons, and other businesses doing it every year. They give you a kickback for buying a gift card or gift certificate from them.

Through the 2011 Christmas season, one of my favorite restaurant chains, Brann’s Sizzling Steaks & Sports Grille, is giving a $10 gift certificate for every $30 in gift cards you purchase. That’s a really great deal!

Just this week, as I’ve driven around town, I’ve noticed a couple of other restaurants with signs or banners outside advertising similar Christmas kickbacks on their gift cards.  Check around your community to see if any restaurants or businesses are doing the same.  If you don’t notice any signs, give them a call.  It never hurts to ask!

By the way, even if you’re not looking to buy gift cards to give to someone else, if you eat out often, you might as well buy these gift cards for yourself to take advantage of the kickback!  It’s like giving yourself 33% off.

As always, be sure to check the fine print on your kickback gift card or certificate for any limitations or expiration dates.

Are you planning on giving gift cards for Christmas this year?  Have you taken advantage of these Christmas kickbacks before?

Money Wisdom from the Bible

"Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share." - 1 Timothy 6:17-18 (NIV) Click for more of the Bible and Money...
